After moving to Oregon, we found out that Lane county has no truancy officers. So of course kids do whatever the hell they want. My solution was to call the cops every time I saw teenagers selling drugs at the skatepark across the street. Eventually, the kids realized that the old guy across the street hated their guts, just like in the movie Gran Torino. My other way of de stressing is reading Krishnamurti. Heard him speak in Ojai years ago, really down to earth guy for a Roshi.
I had a girlfriend with MPD a little over 30 years ago. I flipped over her at first sight, and soon found myself on a roller coaster. Towards the end of the eight or so months of involvement, I joined a support group for significant others (and maybe family members, too) of people with MPD. She had a lot more alters, or whatever you call them, of varying ages, from 5 on up. 5 could drive, and did.
The Mount Juliet DMV was easy in (same ‘minute’ appointment) and great throughout. Every time I went was sparsely populated. Also way less expensive than Los Angeles. Unfortunate about Knoxville. Plus Mount Juliet prides itself on being #7 in top 10 safest cities in TN.
Thanks for the Foothills Parkway tip. I was unaware of it even though I’m in Western NC. Be sure to try the Cherohala Skyway that goes from Tellico Plains TN to Robbinsville NC. It’s a beautiful road like the Blue Ridge Parkway, but with almost no cars. The TN side is much more scenic than the NC side, but if you make it to Robbinsville you’re not very far from Cherokee NC which is the western terminus of the Blue Ridge Parkway. https://cherohala.com/
